Unbeatable Brazilian FUT squad

We have reached that time of the year where FIFA 20 Ultimate team becomes less competitive and more about trying out fun cards/squads. One of the most popular themes for FUT Champs squad making are Brazilian squads. As most players would have started playing at the beginning of the game cycle, many will have access to high level Brazilian SBC cards, or even Brazilian icons from earning icon swap tokens. However, if you do not have any “end game” Brazilians in your team, with only 1 Million coins to spend, then this is for you!

First things first, we need a goalkeeper! Unfortunately, this year there has not been a good selection of Brazilian goalkeepers to choose from, but what we do have is a variety of Alisson special cards. Alisson’s highest rated cards are his 97 rated TOTY and TOTSSO cards, but these cards would take away a quarter of our budget, so we are going to go with his 90 rated TOTY Nominee card instead. This card is currently priced at 106k, and although you probably could go for a cheaper option, in my opinion this card is the perfect balance of price and quality, so should be more than good enough for your weekend league endeavours. Alternatively, you could go for a cheaper version of Alisson, or just go for an Ederson or Neto, as goalkeepers in this year’s FIFA seem to always have their fault regardless of rating.

Next up we have to tackle the defensive positions. At CB I always like going for a solid/pacey combination, so we will be going for Luiz Felipe’s 87 rated Future stars card. Felipe’s card has 86 pace which is extremely quick for a CB and is priced at a decent 78k. This leaves room for us to have Brazil’s highest rated defensive card, TOTS Thiago Silva. 95 rated with 96 defending means he is an absolute bargain for only 97k.

Our full backs will be Future stars Renan Lodi and TOTS Mariano. Both full backs are solid defensively and have the pace and dribbling stats to cause a threat good going forward, which is perfect for “down the line and cut backs” style of play required to win games in this years FUT. Coming in at a combined total of 131k, you will certainly feel this is money well spent.

The formation I would suggest for this particular starting 11 is either a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1. In either formation, we will require 2 CDMs and a 1 CAM. I have gone for Benfica’s criminally underused TOTS Gabriel card (71k) as the more defensive of the two CDMS, and Renato Augusto (90k) as more of the box to box option. Gabriel has solid defensive stats with a 5-star weak foot, whilst R. Augusto has spectacular passing and shooting stats with a 4-star + 4-star combo, making him the perfect deep lying playmaker. 

I was spoilt for choice for the CAM position, but at a humble price of only 65k with 97 agility and 99 balance, West Brom’s Matheus Pereira is an excellent choice when unlocking a compact defence in this year’s game. This 91 rated TOTS will make you feel like you are using mid Icon Ronaldinho.

Every FIFA Ultimate tam squad needs a player that will make the difference in those tight games when rigid, 1 depth drop back defences require a bit of genius to be unlocked. In this team, that card is Neymar. Unfortunately, all of Neymar’s special cards are too expensive for our 1M budget. Luckily his 140k Gold card is still an exceptional card, that is good enough to do the job. 5-Star weak foot, 5-Star skill moves, 92 rated with his very own rainbow flick that only he can do. Neymar’s cards are pound for pound top 5 most broken cards in the game. He is a no brainer. Get him, play him anywhere in attack and give him the ball. Game over.

Finding players to accompany Neymar in this free-flowing Brazilian attack is something even the Tite (Brazil’s national team coach) struggles with, as the options are endless. However, I have chosen to go for the incredible Hulk. Priced at 124k, with 99 dribbling, 99 strength, 99 long shots & 99 shot power, you will have no problems shielding the ball and working your way into shooting positions with this card. Get him on his left foot and think PES 6 - Adriano. Need I say more?

Finally, the card we will use to lead the line is Jiangsu Suning’s 91 rated Brazilian striker, Alex Teixeira. His pace, dribbling and shooting stats are sensational. He has 91 vision & short passing, 99 stamina, AND he has a 4-star 4-star combo?! Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the FIFA 20 FUT meta. You will have absolutely no problems using this card to create and score goals all by himself in that box. The only reason this card is priced at 140k is because he plays in the Chinese league, making good chemistry links hard to come by. Although I urge you not be fooled by that price tag because if you were to swap the Chinese league with any major European league, that 140k easily turns into a 1.4M price tag.

This 11 has everything. A goalkeeper that you can rely on to save everything you except to save, a defensive wall with bags of pace, a midfield three that will win the ball back and keep it comfortably, and an interchangeable frontline that will literally breakdown any defensive in every way possible. No one will be safe. 

Additionally, you will need subs, but this does not need to affect the budget. I am hoping over the course of the game, you would have accumulated enough super subs to get you out of sticky situations once the stamina of the starting 11 becomes an issue. I should also mention that there are very good Brazilian players I purposely left out due to them being an SBC like Flashback Miranda or objective based card like the popular 89 rated Fred. Therefore, if you already own those high rated Brazilian cards, or you were lucky enough to pack a card too expensive for this squad, feel free to add them where necessary. Afterall, if I could have Prime Moments R9 in this team, I would!
