Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a stunning masterpiece!
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the 12th entry in the major hit franchise. It’s big, bold and darn right beautifully aesthetic!
Set in the era of 872-878 AD, you take on the role of protagonist Eivor Varinsdottir, a viking caught in the conflict between the Assassin’s Brotherhood (who fight for peace and justice) and the Templar Order whose aspiration is to obtain peace through dominance.
The contemporary segment of the story takes place in the 21st century and follows Layla Hassan, an Assassin who recreates Eivor’s recollection to save the Earth from being decimated.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the successor to 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Released on November 10th 2020, it is playable on the following platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Stadia, whilst the PS5 version was released on November 12th 2020.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is an open world action RPG unlike no other. It’s praise for a story rich narrative, strong characters, visuals and the interconnectivity of activities brought in positive reviews and the biggest launch in the Assassin’s Creed franchise to date. The follow up season pass ‘Assassin’s Creed Dawn of Ragnarok’ is currently slated to be released on 10th March 2022.
There is something for everyone in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, even if you have never played any of the games in the franchise. It has engaging combination combat techniques, a vast open-world exploration map and settlement management. The Eagle vision from previous titles allows you to take control of a raven, from aerial POV in the form of ‘Odin’s Sight’.

‘An open world action RPG unlike no other’ ”

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is structured around several main story arcs, and various entertaining yet fun side quests to explore called ‘World Events’.
The player has a choice of selecting Eivor as either male or female, or letting the game alternate between the two key moments in the story. I love how the game gives you the choice of customising your character from having different haircuts, tattoos, clothing and even a beard!
If you are new to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, you don’t have play any of the previous titles, as the game features an on-screen tutorial to help guide you through the game.

Overall, I would highly recommend Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, especially being a first time player of the franchise myself. I found the first section of the game to be very story driven, aesthetically beautiful and I felt very emotional watching the story unfold before my very eyes due to the strong storytelling and captivating moments of both sympathy and empathy for the characters.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla certainly has you on the edge of your seat from start to finish, a title worthy of its time!
